| I haven't played D&D for about ten years, but I do remember it being fun. Of course my lack of strategy and memorization of magic spells often placed me as the "big-smashy-guy" of the groups. Good times... |

| I used to play as a cleric of St. Cuthbert (a minor deity under Pelor.) I was attached to the spelljammer Setigo as ship's mage, and the spelljamming helm was constantly breaking down on us, leaving us drifting through the phlogiston at the most inopportune of moments. Plus, the ship was the runt of its clutch and was always sickly. The ship nearly died on us several times.
One time we accidentally set a huge chunk of the phlogiston on fire. That was not a cool adventure at all.
I've actually been slowly writing a novel based on our group's adventures for the past year or so. |

| Both Silver and I have DMed in the past and I remember my first character in Silver's campaign got to demonstrate why you don't send a legion of undead up against a Cleric who is skilled in turning >.> My first time playing D&D was joining with a high level campaign as a Paladin of Pelor. I had seen my friends playing so they asked if I wanted to join and helped me design a character that was actually kinda fun. She started off with Mithril Full Plate, a +2 Lance with fire burst, and she rode a white Pegasus. Yeah...All you saw was a glowing white thing descending upon you before you died... Oh. And to top it all off...My very first roll was a critical hit _________________ Honey, we're on Patrol. The Spelljammer campaign setting is an oft-overlooked, though SERIOUSLY cool addition to the 2nd edition lexicon. It allows you to travel freely between campaign settings through the use of living, flying, outerspace galleons.
We always went cool places like Sigil and Athas. |

| i cant believe i missed this thread for so long. Hells yes I play D&D. I DM one campaign, where last night my Players just hit level 13. I also have played in about 7 or 8 campaigns DM'ed by others, and only a few of those got close to finishing. However My most impressive character ever was a level 22 Fighter, 10 Kensai, and 4 Knight of the chalice. He ascended at one point (It's a god fighting campaign), and reached a divine rank of around 7. I wish I had the character sheet to read, but that DM has it.
4.0 however seems to be a simplified version of 3.5. It's more streamlined to allow players to play it online easier, and get new players into it. However while they have added 3 players handbooks for class supplement (I was pissed when I bought the DMG, MM, and PH, and saw how unvaried the original classes were. No monk, or Barbarian? screw that), It seems to me like another Wizards marketing ploy. You know they could have just worked harder on the original volume to add more classes, and avoid making 4.0 into what 3.5 was (A BIG pile of expensive books), but that seems to be there constant direction. _________________ The Twilight is My Robe

| There have been a number of Superhero paper RPGs. My favorite was "Villains and Vigilantes." Its gimmick was that you played as yourself, just in this alternate version of reality where you got random superhero powers.
Haven't been able to work up the motivation to really understand the "new" D&D rules.
Making and adapting RPGs used to be fun, too. |

| I played for a minute. rolled up a special character cause it was soon after I read about Kaz the Minotaur but liked the idea of a magic carpet. to bypass the Minotaur's lack of magical proficiency I made him from an Elf..... and he had a flying carpet. yep. _________________ if it's official, I'll tell you about it..... most of this is all on me.

A few of my friends once figured out how to break 3.5 by creating a half-dragon, half-orc with gnome hooked hammers and taking certain feats while buffering some very specific attributes. I once saw another group of adventurers take down a tarrasque in one turn.
They took this:

Down in one turn.
Yeah...3.5 was okay, but it still had a lot of glitches. I still love it for world building. | At the very least. Possibly webcams. I have done long distance campaigns before, and webcam is best. But I think chat could work, or maybe...
Maybe we use the conference line! _________________ "Some moistened bink tossing out swords is no basis for a system of Government." - Superhero "Reason alone does not justify an action." - ! "Whispers are great weapons." - Razorhawk "This has become a rather silly thread." - Zetaman
