Ok, as far as movies go, I see two different categories: Those whose heroes have powers, and those whose heroes do not.

With Powers:

Mystery Men was excellent. I especially liked the Shoveller. No powers and not a billionaire. Most realistic to rlsh circumstance. Mister Furious very complex character and shows great growth due to being part of a supportive team.

Supergirl, probably the very worst superhero movie ever made. But Helen Slater rocked the outfit!

Without powers:

Hero at Large was a great film with John Ritter. He had no powers, but an exceptional amount of courage and luck. I won't give away the plot, but it really rocks.

Kick Ass is a great book series, but since the film hasn't hit theatres yet, I reserve my opinion.

Condorman was pure awesome, and made me want to be doing this.

Jingle All the Way, with the Governator. Just kidding.

Anyone here remember the TV show Misfits of Science? Awesome show, but tragically cut short.

CondorMan.... Awesome in a can! Misfits..... also Awesome!

"Big Willy" did the epic drunken self-loather. c'mon.... if you felt like a freak, what would you do?

Helen Slater did "rock" that suit. movie filed under epic fail

I have to make a call-back to BlankMan..... those "SuperHeroes" he inspired were great!

Ed GruberMan was along these lines as well in Super Capers. trying to fill some big "boots and tights"

I like the ones that show the underdog as the hero. that's why if 8 and I find more like-minded locals, my vote for team name goes to "Hero Zero: The Last Guys You'd Expect to Even Want to Save The Day!"
