| Hello everyone. I'm the Silver Sentinel. In civilian life I'm a security officer, and a law abiding citizen of my community. And you could say that I've been a closet superhero for many years now, helping out at charity events, toy drives, and working with a local neighborhood watch program.
Only about a year ago did I learn about the RLSH Community and began researching various heroes. It took me awhile to finally make the decision to step up and "fight the good fight" as a costumed crusader. These are things I do normally anyway, and the costume will help draw public attention to the many activities people in the community can participate in to help out their fellow neighbors.

| My base of operations is in NY State. A small community with nothing in the way of dire need for a superhero. But there are charities and causes I can use my identity for to help raise awareness.
I've been looking at the things Zetaman has been doing and have found a lot of inspiration there. I'm getting more and more ideas now that I've found this forum. _________________ http://www.thehungersite.com - Just 2 minutes of your time each day you can help donate food, free mammograms, health care for a child, a free book for child literacy, preserve square feet of rain forest habitat for wildlife, and donate food to animal shelters. | Oh man, this totally sucks. I finished designing my uniform and shopping the items needed only to discover the Black Knight already has a uniform made of the same exact items! Only a few colors are different.

So throw on a silver over suite with a custom logo on the chest or something; Then you have the protection but the look is different.
Just remember, at some point you *will* need to use the restroom.. |

I spent several years in the Society for Creative Anachronism... having worn real armor day in and day out, I remember the potty rule all too well. I used to have a cod piece from Hades.
Zombie Nation Rule 2: Beware of Bathrooms: Really not just bathrooms any good apocalyptic zombie survivor should know better then going into a bathroom, small closet or any other small room with only one way in or out. | I had to Google Dunder Mifflin to know what you were talking about. I haven't watched The Office. Last night I Hulu'ed a few episodes and found it wasn't as horrible as I thought. | As the years pass we tend to forget things. When I came out and told my family I was doing the superhero thing, they reminded me that this isn't the first time for me.
When I was about 10 years old, I used to be bullied a lot by older kids. So one day I decided I had had enough, grabbed a box of crayons and a paper grocery bag, and drew a cat's head on it. I then cut out holes for my arms and head. Thus, Cougar Man, was born. While I wore my paper bag, I wasn't afraid anymore. I even helped fix other kids bikes. But soon I ran out of crayons and couldn't replace my "uniform" anymore, so that was the end of that.
And recently a woman whom I haven't seen in over 30 years, found me again on Facebook. She and I started talking and she reminded me that for a short time I called myself The Avenger, and kept bullies away from herself and other kids. She had had a pretty bad childhood and those memories of me had stayed with her all these years, and still made her happy. I had forgotten all about this, along with much of high school in general, because I also had a rough time of it.
She is now recovering from breast cancer and told me that I was her hero back then, and how much she admired me now. Talk about feeling unworthy. Here she is surviving cancer, telling me she admires me. I told her straight out, it's her courage that makes her my hero. She is thinking about joining a special group that talks to women with breast cancer and help them through their terrible ordeal. I hope she does.
So I guess this thing has been in my blood for some time now, though I don't really count my earlier attempts. Somehow I doubt a make believe magic paper grocery bag, or a tee shirt with an american flag on it count as a true uniform. But they helped me find courage when I really needed it back then. I just hope that my goggles and legendary beard will help me find the courage I need these days. |
