Kick-Ass: New Hit Girl Trailer and Real Life Superheroes

I’ll admit that I am one of the few people in my field who is not that excited about Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass. I’ve never read the comic, and the trailers and posters so far have not made me any more a believer. That was until I saw this puppy embedded below, courtesy of Trailer Addict. It’s the red band trailer for “Hit Girl”, a character in the film. It’s definitely worth a look.
If the rest of the movie has that same tone and action, I’m in.
In other Kick-Ass news, the film taken over the Real Life SuperHeroes homepage, with the customary background and regular ads all being taken up. For those unfamiliar with the website, it basically brings the concept of Kick-Ass to the real world (which is of course why it’s perfect for the film’s advertising). Here’s a blurb from the site about what they do: The Real Life Superheroes is a grassroots movement that works in a fun, exciting, and inspirational fashion to make the world a better place. We are using the iconicism of comic book superheroes to make a difference, inspire others, spread a positive message, and call attention to issues in our communities. The Real Life Superheroes work to make the world a better place by doing civic activities, charity work, public safety patrols, hospital visits, school talks, distributing wanted and missing person fliers, helping the homeless, community clean-ups, and more. From crime fighting to charity work real life superheroes seek to help make a positive difference in their communities.
It’s a great concept, and there’s a lot on the site to check out, like events, artwork, videos, and much more. Be sure to head on over there and join the fight!
Kick-Ass, about people without powers who choose to be superheroes, is directed by Matthew Vaughn, whose works include Layer Cake and Stardust. The story is an adaptation of Mark Millar’s comic of the same name that is currently in the middle of its first series. The film is set to release on April 16th, 2010.

I have been looking forward to the movie after hearing about it, and even more after seeing the trailers. I have never actually read the comic books, so I ordered the graphic novel from Borders today. It usually ships in four to eight weeks.

HIGH octane. If you gene-spliced a girl scout with somebody from Seal Team Six or Delta Force, you'd get her! lol.

Sigh. All I can say is, if you people think you get a shit deal now, wait 'til this movie comes out and we start seeing gangs full of costumed 10-year-olds roaming the streets at night; they may start off trying to do good in the community, but sooner or later they'll end up turning into violent little shits that give your entire movement a big black eye.

I saw a clip from the movie on YouTube with Hit Girl trying out a bullet-proof vest for the first time.

It looks pretty cool, but I wont lie...the clip Tothian put up i kind of ignored, and just waited until the "Suggested Videos" came up, then i saw the extended trailer, and was like "Wow...this might actually be worth the trouble.

My car once went into a power slide on some "obsidian frost" on the road. I flipped it end over end and wrapped it around a tree.
Luckily for me, I discovered, thanks to that accident, that I am invulnerable to harm. I also discovered that I was super-strong, as I ripped the passenger door open and rescued my girlfriend.
Oh, wait... that wasn't me. That was the plot to Unbreakable.

I tried the suggested videos too. They had two bootleg clips: "Meet Hit Girl" and "Knife." Pretty cool stuff.
Although they do make it seem like Kick-Ass spends the whole movie nearly getting himself killed.
