PostSubject: Project cape   Mon Sep 21, 2009 7:26 am

Yesterday I attended (as my civilian self) the 'GAMECON 2009' in Naples, Castel Sant'Elmo (a castle set in the middle of the city).

Premise: I'm not into videogames at all. Tothian should already know I don't like them. But my cousin was working there (he's a videgame journalist for many professional magazines), and so I showed up. It was a great day anyway.

Well, there was a whole section in Castel Sant'Elmo focused on medieval costumes and armoured CosPlayers.
Without revealing the reason to anyone, I just wore some (green) medieval capes and cloaks, and they seemed incredibly effective. I could use a cape as a way to confuse or even attack my opponent.

Medieval capes. I'm searching for some pics to show you.

Any feedback?

You could just summon the Insecticons and have them blast your enemies into their constituent atoms. Much more likely to succeed.

Oh God.

Why not, Transformers exist.

Dear Victim,

I did mean I can even remove my cape and throw it on my opponent from the above, because it should work as a "cloak" of some sort.
I just didn't fully express the concept; it's painful to pick the right words in English.

And then, I like it. Plain and simple.

Wait, G. I haven't purchased the cape yet. It should be customized, anyway. Some modifications need to be made, in my view.

I'm just pondering about it.

A cape would posess no tactical advantage other than adding to Entomo's silly image.

I think Entomo is awesome, but since he has the biggest ego of anyone I've ever known (which he denies) it might not do anything for him. (I am drunk right now. Sorry Entomo but it's the truth. Forgive me, Entomo! You're the best Italian Hero!)

Stop drinking beers, Tothian. Alcohol and smoke suck.

Entomo,

When you say things like that, you prove my theory true, that you do in fact have a huge ego. I do not say that as an insult, only an observation. To deny what I say would only prove my theory correct.

If we ever meet, I would like to have a few beers with you.

Tothian,

We're both too cool to share the same room at the same time. Our coolness auras combined could destroy the whole universe in a second.

Actually you would need COOLNESS and HOTNESS to do anything like that. There is no energy gradient between coolness and coolness so there would be no forcible reduction of the gradient.

What many people don't realize about the 2nd law of thermodynamics is that not only is 'work' produced when you reduce a gradient, but temperature gradients are reduced whether you are trying to produce work or not. The steeper the gradient, the more violent the physical manifestation of the reduction of the gradient.

When Mythbusters successfully reproduced the internet video of the thermite/ice block reaction they were unsure why the ice exploded instead of just melted. It was simply the extremely high temperature gradient AND two different states of matter instantly reducing.

It's not like matter and anti-matter. Coolness + Coolness just produce Unbearable Coolness, which could destroy our single universe in a second. Tothian's ponytail kinda contains the energy of his coolness, but that wouldn't work if I should enter in the room with a medieval cape. Ponytail - medieval cape = zero.

Cape sounds like a good idea for public appearances and such, on patrols I doubt it would help.

Everyone's always saying "Capes are good for public appearances" - wrong. If you are making a public appearance, wouldn't you want to look as professional and not-silly as possible?
