| I know there are software programs out there for your mobile that claim to do the same thing but I don't know how effective they are. http://www.voxtec.com/phraselator/ A world of phrase translation capabilities at your command.
The mobile, ruggedly designed Voxtec Phraselator® P2 is the most powerful one-way, handheld, speech-to-speech translation system available. Originally developed for use by the U.S. Military, the P2 has aided the tactical and humanitarian needs of thousands of service personnel in Iraq, Afghanistan and Southeast Asia. Based on its success in these challenging environments, the P2 has also been called upon to meet the critical communication needs of law enforcement and corrections officers, emergency medical technicians, construction superintendents and many others.

| Thats cool, I like it. Hmmmmm, I wonder if someone could do an app for an I Phone that would do this. I mean they already have the app where if you sing lyrics into it you can find out which song it is. Couldn't be much harder to do something like this. |

| Maybe if someone knew something about writing Apps and something about translating languages, they could program something. That would be useful, especially since most of us keep a phone with us on patrol. No extra equipment. |

| If this works as advertised, I'll buy one. No question. The best money I'll ever spend.
I have no idea what to say to the thousands of Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi or Polish speaking citizens in my city. If I can't speak to them, I often can't help them. |
