| I had the idea of making myself look vulnerable in order to get the sexual assaulters to come out and then turn them in or report them if they are unkown. However, should i have to protect myself or bring that person down, what should i use and what should i do to ensure my safety and not accidently kill the crook? |

| It would be wise to do that with a partner incase you get into a squeeze |

| I would really recommend against using yourself as bait to lure in criminals. You may be FAR more successful than you would hope. Also, if you lure these people into a "Trap" just to turn them over to police, then their lawyers could use Entrapment as a possible defense. We have to remember we live in a world were courts decide weather or not a person is guilty, not the police or people like us. We only serve to bring active offenders to such a situation where our courts can do what they do. To try and lure people into such circumstances could prove dangerous and Inefficient as far as taking actual criminals off of the street. |

| My advice,...
Don't do it. You could wind up dead or worse if something should go wrong. Surveillance and recording of criminal activity would be a better option to choose.

| agree'd. any idea that puts you in harms way is a bad idea unless completely necessary. |

| Hello,
Now that we've established that this is a bad idea, a taser might be a good defensive armament to consider. In whatever situation.
If you use an air taser, I'd select a model that has the optional contact prongs in case you find yourself in a melee. I'd also recommend a backup taser in case you are disarmed during your fight to escape.
My personal philosophy is to never use violence unless it is necessary to save lives. I also try not to antagonize people or create situations where I am likely to come to harm. |

| I know the NYI has done 'bait' patrols before.
I wonder if they put Zimmer in a dress and then send Nyx out to deal with the perps? |

| If you do do it, two people better be watching you at all times. It depends on how far you would go with it, but again, I do not recommend it. |

| I agree with a lot of the other people here. It's not a good idea but if you do decide to do it, bring backup. At least one other person who can step in from the shadows to intervene if things get out of hand. |

| Bait patrols are done because they have backup and are properly trained and executed with the right techniques should anything go wrong.
