I was hoping the some one could tell me about Muriatic Acid. the reason that I am asking is that on December 10th 2000 a 10 year old boy was found dead two days after he was reported missing the cause of death was suffocation but this acid was poored on his body. As of today the police have still have no suspect. Last time the boy was seen alive he was riding his red bicycle which is still not been found to this day.

Hydrochloric acid is the acid used. Historically though it is also called muriatic acid. Who was using such an archaic name?

From a un-chemist point of view, Muratic acid is "Burny" if you get it on you, but not the Acid you'd use yto dispose of people. It's usually used to clean swimming pools & get Chrome of of car parts.

"It's been a very in depth investigation for 9 years now," says Sergeant Bill Phillips who says Josh Walden's case file is one of the biggest he's ever seen.

A whole 10 binders full of confidential interviews, pictures and evidence but not a bit that will lead police to his killer.

"It is a pending homicide investigation we have documents and recordings here from as recent as recent as two to three months ago," says Phillips.
It's been 9 years since detectives were called to a park in East Lake where they found the 10 year old suffocated with muriatic acid poured on his body.
Walden's family reported him missing two days before, but he was found just blocks from home.
"There were a lot of experience homicide detectives on that case..and i think seeing a small child in that state was extremely depressing for everybody involved," says Phillips.

In the 4500 Block of 14th Avenue is where Josh Walden lived with his family but detectives say he was usually seen miles from here riding a red bicylce, the same bike he was on when he went missing.
Sgt. Phillips says it was that lack of supervision that made Josh vulnerable for this crime.

"It just didnt appear that there was the amount of supervison that there could have been," says Phillips.

"Theres one thing i've realized though he's in a far better place than we'll ever be. Maybe someday ill be there with him," is what Ann Walden had to say about her son's death during an interview with Newschannel9 6 years ago.

Walden has since moved out of the area, and detectives have lost touch with the family.
But Phillips says justice for this family is what motivates them to keep mapping out the case.

"The person who murdered this small child deserves to go to prison so any information people could give us would be greatly appreciated," says Phillips.
