| For a lower half-face mask, is this practical, since I will be speaking to people? I wear glasses, so I can't really do the whole eye-mask thing.
How does neoprene stand up to water, or sweat, and how much would a custom neoprene mask cost? I found one to my liking for $10 online.
Lots o' questions!
Thank you for you responses! |

| Never tried a neoprene mask, but my neoprene weight lifting shorts start to chafe after a while -- like I wouldn't wear them for one full day. |

| I have a neoprene half mask I considered using for a while. The only downside I found is that your breath tends to form a lot of condensation underneath so it gets slightly stuffy. Not bad for winter, but terrible in summer.
However, I've never had trouble with people understanding what I say when wearing it. |

| Neoprene does collect condensation, but since it will be on your face - and your face doesn't move much- the mask shouldn't chafe as long as it fits well enough. |

| I see.
It doesn't rip easily does it? I can modify it a bit to reduce the condensation. I could see where it could get terrible in summer. It'd be like a cat clawing at its own fur.
What other material would be good for a half mask, or should I morph a bandana into one? I don't want to frighten people away with skulls and spikes or gang colors.
Thanks for all your tips! |

In my experience, it's not super easy to tear on things (like how a cotton shirt could get torn if it catches on something). It can be cut with scissors and such, but it's a pretty sturdy material designed to take a good amount of abuse. |

| I had used a neoprene mask here in Florida and gave up after a short while because it would help fog up my goggles I was wearing. Ao I gave up on it. I think I still have it around here. It is very hard to damage it, I tried on several occasions to rip it and it wouldn't. I also have a pair of neoprene workout shorts and love those things and usually feel about 10 pounds lighter after I workout and take them off. lol |

| I've never found a way to avoid the fogging up with a mask + goggles combo. If anyone out there has any tips, please feel free to share. I'd love to be able to add goggles back onto some of my suits. |

| While looking to figure out my get up, I've found these...

http://tinyurl.com/2e4lpgz

EDITED: Too long. If anyone needs to shorten a link like this go to http://tinyurl.com/ plug in your web address, and you get a shorter url. Helps to keep the page not so long and crazy. |

| @Amazonia I should start looking for a diff material then, lol. My glasses will fog up like that.
@Truth Thanks for the links! I will most likely consider these instead.
@the crimson fist Cool, maybe I can use neoprene for something different, since it's durable. Definitely not clothing....unless I want to look like a bucket of water. I don't think the sports store is going to sell me neoprene unless I have a boater's license... Maybe a utility belt |

| I also believe theres some sort of spray you can use on the inside of your goggles for anti-fogging purposes. But I have such horrible memory. I'm pretty sure it was made for snowboarding though. |

| RocketGirl: You shouldn't need any kind of license to buy the material or pre-fab neoprene gear. It's not like it has any illicit uses or anything, so they should have no problem selling it to you.
Truth: My only experience with the stuff wasn't very good. I imagine I might just not have had a good brand, though. If you or anyone knows of a good quality anti-fogger, I'm all ears! |

| Yeah I'm not too sure on what brands are available or how it works I just remember seeing something like it on a motorcycle website a long time ago. I can take your word though it seems like one of those products that wouldn't work too well. But if the stuff is cheap enough and you can find it RocketGirl try them out and let us know |

| Look into the hoods from Under Armor. They come in a variety of colors and can be full hoods or just the lower face. run about 30 bucks and can be light weight for heat (the military use them in the desert) or heavier for winter (I use one up in Alaska) |
