| The Bracers look pretty darn good! Can you mod them? I'm considering bracers now that I'm upgrading my gloves to carbon knuckles and don't need wrist wraps to protect my hand bones. Still need some anti-slashing protection on my arms and now that I'm chucking the wraps, bracers are my next option. |

| Any idea how good the bracers would be against knives slashes?
That is really nice for a low price |

| If they are as thick as I think they are, they would hold up to one or two slashes in the general vicinity of each other, but I'm sure multiple slashes would wear down the leather... and be honest DG... you like them because they're red |

| Gadgetastic, not knocking your bracers, but do you think you could use plates going vertical instead of horizontal like these? I'd rather keep money in the RLSH network than reach out and purchase from someone else. Kinda helps with the anonymity of things. I'd really be interested in a set if they had the vertical nickle plates (about an inch wide) and were in black with buckles instead of laces. Might be an idea for you to tinker with. Still like your original ones too!

| Wow! Thanks for the positive response.
Bracers were originally designed to stand up to some serious abuse, specifically blades as the forearms were prime targets during sword fights. As for how much abuse they can stand up to? Well, there are several factors to consider. The quality of the blade, the sharpness of the blade, the strength of the blow, and the skill of the knife fighter. Most blades out there these days are order-out-of-catalog junk made from inferior pakistani steel. Thick leather holds up pretty well against these. On the other hand, a Coldsteel brand high-end blade can cut through bone, so no amount of flesh is going to stand up to it. That being said, you'd rarely be a static target, and if you were you'd be more worried about your throat than you arms, so you're going to be in motion which means most slashes are going to be glancing blows. 8-9oz leather is pretty good for that. Obviously, for legal purposes I have to reiterate that I can't make any guarantees.
Yes I can dye them in a variety of colors. Blue, black, red, yellow, green, and a few others.
I am planning on making some more bracers of different styles. I have ideas for reinforcements with polycarbonate and steel. They will be much more expensive of course but I will post whenever I have something new on the site.
Chivalry, thanks. One of the reasons the bracers are being sold for so little is that making a profit isn't terribly important to me right now. All I really care about is making enough to cover what I spent and a token amount more so I can make something better next time. Beyond that it's all about improving my skills and having an outlet for my work.

| Well, some things on the drawing board include:
A set of vambraces with polycarbonate slash guards.
A mask similar to Captain America's where it covers the entire face and head except the mouth and chin.
A utility belt with lots of pouches.
Reinforced shin/knee guards.

| Gadget: I'd be interested in a mask once I saw some prototypes: I'm making the suit modular and would like something to wear instead of the full battle-helmet if I'm out in civvies or "Super-Casual", as Supes puts it. |

| Paladin,
What is your color scheme? Right now I'm putting the finishing touches on some steel reinforced bracers but I am thinking a mask would be next on my to do list. As long as I'm making one I'll make in in your colors. If you like it you can buy it and if not It will just go on display.

| gadgetastic, put me down for one of those masks as well.... I also want the Captain America look... without the wingtips though.... I woudl want it blue, red and green, my color scheme.... the mask woudl be blue to start off with and then have read and green accents... For the accents I want red phoenix symbols like a rey mysterio mask and then some green flames... Ofcourse if thats all too much I leave it in your creative abilities, afterall, you are the artist!!! |

| I do most of my work because I am inspried and it's something in my mind that I want to make real. More art than work. I can do commissions but I'll be honest, it would be a little more expensive, though likely still a heck of a lot less expensive than what you'll find elsewhere for the same quality. Simple bracers like the red ones are easy though so I could probably knock out a pair in blue for about $20+ shipping.
