| Long story short....
Put a new Battery in the Supermobile & took it out across the Bayside Bridge for a run, came across this lady & her Daughter & like 4 kids in a Minivan at the side of the bridge that had a chunk of the belt of one of their tires come loose & tear the faring over the wheel well lose.
Nobody had stopped to try & help them so the first thing I wanted to do was break out my roadside asistance kit & see if I could re-attach the fairing.
No go, The heat down here turnned my duct tape to soup.
By then a cop had pulled up behind my car which was a good thing because while I'm down on the ground working speeding cars are passing my head like two feet away and the cop hands me his multi tool & I try to screw the fairing back into place.
No go, the screws are all jammed up or rusted.
So I follow the family at like 20 mph with my hazzards on off the bridge & into a parking lot so I can use my floor jack to take off the bad tire & put on their spare.
No go, The frame of the vehicle is REALLY high up in the body (One of those wierd looking astrovans from the 1990's), My jack doesn't reach that high. (and I've got a floor jack!)
So finally the husband shows up with a big Truck jack to lift the van & change the tire & all I can do is look at the older lady & say "Sorry ma'am, everything I tried just wasn't much help to you."
And she said back "You know what? Thank you any way. You we're the only person to stop & try, and thank you for your kindness anyway."
Some days that's the only satisfaction you're going to get. But it's enough.

| Bravo Superhero! At least you were willing to be there and help to the bitter end.
It's a nice reminder that being heroic isn't always about trying to bait bad guys and creeping around alleys looking for faces to smash. |

| It's a good thing you stopped. I'm sure things would have been different if you hadn't. Sometimes, though, things are just out of your hands and there is nothing you can do but just sit back and watch. |

| That's awesome, man. Before I junked my car I made a note to always stop if someone looked like they needed help. It sucks to be stuck in that kind of position and without folks like you looking out for them who will?
Bravo, good sir! |

| It's very sad when it's a special occasion when someone does the right thing.
Well done, Superhero. I'll bet that family was really happy for you being there. You were someone who cared, and that's something to be very proud of. |

| Trying to help is all we can do. We can't expect success every time, but we can try for it!

| Yeah, I tried to go to bat for someone, but missed the ball and hit the referee in the head with the bat. |

That happened to me the other day. As I was driving through an large intersection, I realized that there was guy in the street who was not on the crosswalks. He was just wandering around in traffic, and he looked like he was either on some series drugs or suffering from mental illness. I pulled over and called 911 to report it, and they said that someone was already on the way. I kind of wondered if I should have done anything else, but I decided to just keep driving on.
Would any of you guys done something more? Maybe waited around in case the guy got hit by a car before help arrived, so that you could offer first aid? Or even tried to get him out of the street yourself? |

| You showed them that someone cares and people still do good deeds. Now maybe it will inspire them to do the same. No, I'd say you were very successful. |

| Yep, I remember when my car staled out in the middle of the road someone stopped and helped me push my car to a nearby parking lot.
Also, when I was reading your post Superhero and you said "My Jack doesn't reach that high" I thought you said, "Mr Jack doesn't reach that high". |

@Idea. Yeah I'd have tried to get him out of the road, But I'm learning about handling people with brain injuries right now & they will throw a punch at you and they will not give a crap. you did the smartest thing. |
