| Malvado, you can wear something like that directly over some pairs of ordinary glasses (the smaller ones, obviously). Also some drug stores sell oversized sunglasses intended for wearing over glasses -- not usually clear lens glasses covers, though... |

You can get clear safety glasses or face shields that will go over glasses at most hardware stores. |

| I brought this back up because I'll be checking into the bendable glasses frames, Flexon, etc. at Walmart in the next day or two.
If they check out I'll get a pair with strong lenses and a good strap to put them around my head. I don't want my glasses busting when I get hit in the mug, and these might be the trick.
More later. |

| My goggles are prescription. I think they cost about $109.00. They would have been more if I had gotten the bifocal prescription. |

That's a very reasonable price! Where did you get them? |

| What about a pair of Bike goggles or skidoo goggles that can be worn over your glasses? |

Negative on that option for me Polarman. I can take a good hit, one that would mash down the goggles and bust a normal frame or bend it beyond use.
I'd much rather have the more durable glasses or goggles with prescripton lenses. |

I tried contacts, but I had a ministroke years ago and my left eye doesn't like to open wide to put the dang things in, so I had to give them up.

| Bought some cheap swim googles and switched out the slides for my old lenses, a little crazy glue and they hold up pretty good, if you can't afford the custom googles. |

| These two photos demonstrate that some goggles can be worn comfortably over some glasses. Actually the particular pair of glasses I have on were designed specifically to wear under protective eyewear, so they're kinda small. They fit snuggly into a few sets of goggles I've ordered recently.

| Decided to go middle ground for now.
Flexion frames since the glasses will be used in normal daily activities, plus a sweet pair of sport goggles which fit over the glasses to provide an extra lair of protection. |

| What about wearing visor helmets like Superhero's Helmet with glasses underneath or full skidoo helmet with visor down while the front face lifts up that way you could stop for a coffee or snack break without having to remove the whole helmet and expose your identidy next time youre at a tim hortons |

Gets in the way of the planned Fedora/Derby that I want to wear with the costume.
I do, however, have a landscaper's helmet that can do the same thing. Mesh front to protect from pebbles and grass flying, earmuffs to muffle the sound of lawnmowers and weed whackers. It could be modified, but it would stray from my theme. |

| Helmets have all sorts of disavantages of their own, although there's the obvious advantage of head protection. I'd think carefully before deciding to use one. |
