Ah, re-reading my post there... by "best for playing a character" I meant those particular costumes would be best-suited for playing a fantasy role than for real life use. I didn't mean it would be the best way for an actor to play a character.

Meaning that yes, of course, Adam West Batman is superiorly costumed to Christian Bale Batman etc etc. My admiration of him and Shatner at least rivals yours.

And I don't give a lot of thought to the muscle having been that way since birth. I just don't want to particularly dress in a way that makes that the focus of anyone's attention. I'm not trying to be the posterchild for missing muscles here.

It was actually SILK with a type of form fitting "Helmet" in it believe it or not.

Keatons was Laytex I think.
