I wanted to start this topic to see if anyone on here had ideas or theory's about Nano batteries and how to make them. Apparently, the thing that separates science fiction from science fact today is a lot of power in a small containment unit. With the power Nano batteries can provide really awesome things can be made.

I know that labs (I forget which ones) are working on bacterial based batteries that are dispensed like scotch tape. You pull out a peice, tear it off and tape it accross the terminals. and it provides power. This was from an artical in popular science. They said they were hoping for a 30% power storage but managed to achieve 85%. so that road looks fairly promising.

If you want to stick with what exists on the market LiPo packs aren't that shabby at all. They can dump ginormous amounts of current.

Is this something within the reach of the average gadgeteer and his level of resources?

Not just nano batteries. Lithium Ion batteries that will not wear out and charge within five minutes, and phones that can run off your body's electricity. Amazing stuff on the horizon.

A phone that runs off your bodies electricity? That is a lot of energy to be used on a phone..
There are so many things you can do with your bio electricity...
