PostSubject: 1 guy 1 cup   Wed Sep 01, 2010 11:27 pm

I finally picked up a cup to protect my groin. My groin feels powerful now.

I know some people train up for years to enjoy getting kicked in the junk, but I think this bit of plastic is a little easier.

NOW, you are ready to get in the ring with me

Getting kicked so that you can get kicked more is NOT as good idea.

What would your eyes look like if you tried that idea on them, or your teeth or
your knees?

Rmember, many of the ancient martial artists were celebate by choice
and that technique suited them

Getting kicked in the junk and not feeling pain is a mental thing.. and it's not for everyone...
I recommend the cup lol! Good choice!

The main thing about a cup is getting used to wearing it, lol. If you're not used to it it can cause a bit of chafing and/or irritation where it rides against the skin.

Wear longjohns or boxers under the cup so the straps dont chaf your skin or put the cup on over your pants then wear a pair of trunks on top of that

My Sifu used to tell us ladies to wear them too
but
it just seemed too indelicate

UNTIL I took a heel to the bottom of my torso.

I froze, in mid-counter-punch and tipped like a gi-covered
bovine.

I did wear chest cups for a while.

I got bruises around the outside of those
but they were worth it

An amazing amount of guys won't push on a girl's chest at all.

The world has gentlemen

It's a good thing to have, after all not everyone can be like Tothian with me kicking him there. I won't post the video from last year, for those who are sensitive to seeing that type of thing.

Congrats on the cup.

Flora you are correct about the possible use for us to, I prefer not to use one on patrol and trust me, out on the streets, men are not gentlemen. They can and will push and punch a woman in the chest. I have been hit there several times over the years while on patrol by men and women.

That remark was ONLY about the guys in class!!!

I cherish you-all who patrol!!!

Me, I am braver for animals than for patroling in DC

I cleaned a LOT of poopies today.

That's true Flora. I miss Boston. Almost three years away with a brief two month stretch last year back and I want to be back the patrolling again.

Congrats on the clean-up, we all do what we do to make the world a better place. I cherish to all those who do the charity work to. Without you guys, there wouldn't be a counter balance to those of us who patrol.

In most of my classes I carefully avoided strikes to the tigolbiddy area.

However.

None of my fellow students grossly outclassed me in terms of skill. Also there was the military issue of workplace harassment. Also we weren't really studying strikes, anyway.

I don't think it's worth it to practice taking unprotected groin punches, but I also think that if you're caught unprepared in a real life situation you can probably stifle the impulse to curl up in a ball and groan for ten minutes.
