| Any thoughts on this as a patrol vehicle?
http://www.amazon.com/Triton-Ultimate-Three-Wheeled-Cruiser/dp/B000YAX774
Also does anyone know the name of those weird tricycle type things that you operate standing upright? Not Segues... they're powered by physical exertion and sort of whipping back and forth... |

| It's a big tricycle. I suppose you could use it for patrol but you may have a hard time getting people to take you seriously. Unless it transforms into a giant alien robot or something |

| Powerwings look promising.
What I saw that prompted this line of inquiry actually turns out to be a "Three-Wheeled Action Scooter," which is slightly different.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJb0h3cr61o
But Powerwings look more versatile, like you can ride them sideways as if they were a skateboard.
As far as looking silly, you guys might not be taking into account where I operate. I see crazy spandex-wearing bicyclists all the time.
But I guess you have a point. I want to be funny, but not ridiculous. |

| It's quick, quiet and green, I vote WIN!!!. You may need a bit more speed, nothing an electric pedal assist motor wont fix. Personally I have never ridden one of those myself, but they look like fun. It's a good idea though, and I like it. You will have stealth on your side mobility within urban environments, not to mention the workout, and all without one drop of gasoline. Creating a fairing or body for it would give it a meaner look and improve aerodynamics. I have thought about building a Human powered vehicle (HPV) for my RLSH needs. My concepts have 6 wheels 2 up front and 4 in the back like Batman's tumbler. It's body fairing will resemble it as well, though not an exact copy it will have a similar look and style. So good look to you with the trike hope it works out for you keep us posted |

| Thanks, man. I'm not sure I'll go with this particular item, although when I saw the Three-Wheeled Action Scooter in action it made me turn my head and think "hey, what in the world is that?" (not, hey, look at that tricycle)
I just keep trying to find a variety of sporty type things to use. But thinking about it, it might be better for me to try and figure out orbit wheels some before I move on.
As for speed, I generally drive to urban areas and then walk, powerbock, bike, or whatever within the area. Because of traffic relative speed hasn't come up as an issue yet, but then I also haven't had to chase anyone so far.
Appearance-wise I'm more inclined to try to visually integrate these things with myself as opposed to creating frames for them... but I'm not so sure how I'd do that in this case. |

| That's among the most practical options, except that it doesn't have that startling "WTF?" effect. Everyone knows what a bicycle is... |

| I like the Dreamslide, but they're all pretty expensive. They sell even electric and gas powered (small) scooters that can go 20 mph and stuff for less. Not motor scooters, but smaller.
I personally like the row cycle from a workout standpoint, but you guys already slammed me from an image standpoint about the more practical, cheaper, and just as tri-cycle-ish Triton. Anyway, I always dug rowing workouts.
Perhaps I could get a giant bulletproof hamster ball that can also bounce -- as silly as that is, I'd probably *have* to use something that weird. If nothing else you could evac people that way....

| I'd have to actually call it a "Power Ball" or "the Rescue Ball" or something I also just kinda realized what sort of shells the Samaritan probably meant... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fReXplG1Viw&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoUstCOFL_A&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmmWUzsnbhk http://www.bluevelo.com/bluevelo_-_Cab-Bike.html AKA the velomobile. These things are awesome, but they cost as much as motorcycles for less performance... ...but maybe a bulletproof one... |
