in the cold and wind even a super hero can get chapped lips.i was in a walgreens looking for Chapstick a few years back and they were all out.then i talked to a girl who told me to just get a tube of antibiotic ointment.not only does it prevent chapping but also kills germs.just thought i'd let you know and its economical.

It's evil to use atibiotics without a very good reason. It make germs resistants and babies die.

are you say that neosporin ointment is a bad thing? or the triple antibiotics are bad? i give it out to the homeless and it looks like it heals the sores to me.

That only applies to systemic antibiotics, pills and IV's, etc. Internal antibiotics.
When your system is used to relying on the antibiotics too much, your immune system is weakened, and then the bacteria in your body, which the antibiotics are fighting, starts getting resistant to the antibiotics. Since we use essentially the same antibiotics this becomes a problem until a new antibiotic gets discovered.
After years of abuse, you are totally screwed as your immune system will be weak and it won't get a boost from the antibiotics which the bad things in your body are now resistant too.

This takes years of abuse.

I have never been plauged with chapped lips for some reason, good skin I guess?

If you spend a few days in a super dry climate like Las Vegas you better bring the chap stick because you will get chapped lips. I challenge super hero to try it some day! bounce

We only tend to get it up here when the wind knocks it down to -30 to -50. That really sucks, btw.

i am outdoors alot so i do get plauged with the dreaded chapped lips when it's cold and windy. mostly just the top one.

The biggest trick about avoiding chapped lips is to hydrate, but in extreme weather conditions they still might not be avoidable. Vaseline/petroleum jelly works pretty well for chapped lips.

I've been getting cut lips from wrestling, which then got chapped.
So now, the left side of my upper lip is drooping, and cracked.
And I'm swearing by chapstick.
