I would say right away call the police. I wouldn't step in unless they were trying to really physically harm someone. If I was on scene I probably wouldn't get involved till they attacked the guy who got out of his car.

Yeah I would have waited until they actually attacked the guy in the car, but then it would be pain time

Sadly I'm a man of action. Looking from the roof I would have got off veia jumping and after making my grand appearance See what happened next. I would ask them to stop and if things continued or they came for me then I would call the police. . . .and the hospital too. they might need some bandages.

I can tell you in fine detail how i would fight them if you want. I know there fighting styles now.

Be careful Pitch Black; defending yourself and others from an act of aggression initiated by them is great, but "preemptive strikes" are pretty much always illegal. And before you go into morality vs. law, just hear me out- the law can either be an enemy, or it can be a weapon. Whether you agree with it or not, it's better to use the law to your advantage.

I do agree with you. I only would fight under a last resort. And the batons would come if they pulled a weapon out on me.

Calling the police first is really important. No matter how well trained someone is taking on 4-5 guys at once is extremely difficult. I think telling them you called the cops and they are on the way might scare them a bit. As far as how to fight them I think there can be a general strategy to, but detail that just is not real. Fighting is unexpected especially when against multiple attackers.

Yea well I realize that. But watching that video. You can analyze their basic attacks with the moves they make.

Well the drunk guy did kick the white guys car pretty hard. He also walked on it and tried to force it open. I have to give the drunk guy props though. Picking up a traffic cone to use against a baseball bat. That's some brave person, or stupid.

I gotta say that there was nowhere near enough of a fight to determine the fighting styles of all the people involved. The fact that they were drunk certainly makes them less effective fighters, but they're probably not feeling much pain, either. The "victim" in this video got out of his car and armed himself with a bat. He is not innocent here. I would call the cops and not engage, considering this to be mutually consentual combat. The guy in the car should have driven away. If it got to a point where someone would be seriously injured, I would get involved.

Pitch Black, I applaud your enthusiasm, but it seems that you may be trying to portray a comic book stereotype. There is no need to be overly dramatic here, and well thought out, reality based decisions are looked upon with much more esteem than fantastic scenarios and claims of ultimate wisdom. For instance, how tall is this roof you will be jumping from? What, specifically, is your plan to fight 4 guys, and what is your analysis of their fighting styles? Iwould also advise against grand entrances. While you are busy posing for your close up, the bad guys will be busy plastering your face.

Interesting points of view guys. I would agree with the consensus to intervene when necessary - perhaps even much earlier on when the person had first hassled the car by punching and walking on it.

The only thing that occurs to me spontaneously is to try and get the one guy away from the others. I guess I'd also have to be at ground level and see just how drunk they really are... they might not be as threatening as they appear in this video. After all that guy apparently didn't accomplish anything with his baseball bat.
